She almost always keeps her hair up and decorated. In animal form, she is a small, white fox.

| PHYSICAL STRENGTHS | Midori is agile and flexible, with skills akin to a trained gymnast. She is fairly fast, but prefers to run in fox form

| PHYSICAL WEAKNESSES | Doesn't do well with lifting

| MAGICAL ABILITIES | As one of the most powerful Kitsune in Japan, Midori has nearly the full range of Kitsune abilities, with very little hinderance. Her illusions are almost completely indistinguishable from reality, only able to be seen through by incredibly powerful individuals. She can affect the reality of an entire room, rather than just a single object, though this is very draining and something she usually only does with other Kitsune aiding her. Except for the most complex illusions, she sustain her illusions almost indefinitely. She is also able to maintain her human form when asleep.

| PERSONAL SKILLS AND TRAINING | Midori is trained in diplomacy, Shinto religious ceremony, Aikido, tea ceremony, flower arranging, calligraphy and has a vast knowledge of praeternatural creatures. She is also fluent in several languages.

| PERSONAL WEAKNESSES | Serious to a fault and lacking any sense of humour, Midori is an extremely cold woman. This coldness is most demonstrated with ones she should be close to, like her daughter. She's remarkably strict and a little unforgiving towards those who she feels are her responsibility. She also has a huge ego and can be arrogant.

Midori is highly intelligent, very traditional and quite proud. She has no friends, only acquaintances. Her daughter serves as a great shame to her, but despite her criticism, Midori loves her very much and will always protect her. She is a bit Xenophobic and also prefers other praeternaturals over humans. She tends to associate with women more than men. She's very independent and will overburdens herself with work. Deep down, she is a very kind woman and she is incredible wise, but she masks this behind a hard demeanor.

Kamiyama Midori is the only daughter of former Tenko Clan leader, Akari and her mate. Her formative years were during the Meiji era, when Japan started to modernize and become a world power. This was a change the clan did not like, pulling away more from human society as Japan's culture began to change to fit itself into the global era. Midori showed promise very early on as a powerful Kitsune and was very clearly heir apparent to the leadership role.

At her coming of age, Midori took a position as a Miko in a Shrine of Inari in Hokkaido to learn more of the human world. She found herself not caring for the company of humans. She proved to be exceptionally bright and powerful, quickly surpassing her peers.

When Midori was fifty, her mother was caught in a human trap. Using her powers, she was able to escape, but Akari later died of her injuries. Akari's death caused even greater strain between the Tenko Kitsune and humans. Midori left her position as Miko and took over the rank of leader of the Tenko. The Tenko clan severed almost all of its ties with humans, preferring to live a solitary life. They still protected what they felt was a "lower" species, but had little affection for humans.

Midori proved to be very cool and neutral and able to make decisions based on logic rather than emotion. Despite pulling away from humans, it was Midori who established relations with other praeternatural races, realizing that with the new globalization, they needed to have allies amongst similarly powered species. A strict woman, Midori was also quick to punish Kitsune that were classed as "nogitsune"-- Kitsune who were malicious towards humans.

The great power of Midori and her wise leadership earned her the nickname of "The Light of Hokkaido". Her reputation spread throughout Japan and she was treated often not only as the leader of her clan, but a representative for all Kitsune.

At the age of one hundred and nine, Midori decided it was time to have a child. She had never had an interest in taking a mate and found none of the men around her to be worthy of a place as her consort. She eventually chose Raidon Nagamori, her advisor, who was fifty years older than her. She made it clear to him she had no wish to have a relationship, but only wanted him to father her offspring. Raidon made a deal with Midori: If he fathered her child, he would be free to leave the clan to explore the world outside Japan and form relations with foreign praeternaturals. Midori agreed and soon have a daughter. She named the child Mitsuko, child of light.

Midori struggled with motherhood, treating her daughter as she did other members of her clan. While she loved her daughter deeply, she had trouble expressing such emotions. When Mitsuko became curious about humanity and began running away to learn about them, Midori became stern. She felt she knew what was best for her daughter and had no idea how to deal with the rebellious girl.

This only became worse when Mitsuko came of age and was able to take human form. When she was fourteen, Mitsuko ran away from home. Midori was frantic trying to find her daughter, one of the few times she had ever show true emotion. Midori left the clan in an effort to find Mitsuko. She found her in Tokyo, crying and injured. Mitsuko had fallen in with a biker, who had stabbed her when they slept together and she reverted to fox form. Relieved her daughter was all right and more convinced than ever humans could not be trusted, Midori took Mitsuko home.

For a time, Mitsuko seemed to integrate herself into the clan. She was courted by a young Kitsune todd and rededicated herself to her studies. But the girl's wanderlust had to be sated. Mitsuko eventually told her mother firmly she planned to leave once again to explore the outside world. Midori forbid it, fearing for Mitsuko's safety, but Mitsuko refused to listen.

Still wanting to protect her daughter, Midori sent out spies to keep watch on Mitsuko. Word began to come back that Mitsuko was engaging in the worst practices: Sex, alcohol, drugs, deception and thievery. She was the embodiment of all of the worst legends of Kitsune. Midori had no choice but to declare Mitsuko a nogitsune and forbid her from ever rejoining their clan. Still, she had people follow Mitsuko, in order to make sure the girl did not get into too much trouble. Mitsuko's behavior became hot gossip amongst Kitsune and Midori's position as a strong leader was compromised. While she was very disappointed in Mitsuko for this, her fear for her daughter's safety overwhelmed her feelings of embarrassment.

The only contact Midori had with her daughter, save from reports from the spies she had on the girl, was when a package arrived from Mitsuko from Las Vegas. It was a statue of Midori's mother, Akari. While Midori was happy to have the statue back and it nearly made her reach out to her daughter, word came to her how Mitsuko had retrieve the statue. The news of Mitsuko allowing a foreign human to treat her like his personal whore spread through the clan quickly and Midori's embarrassment caused her to decide against reconciliation.

One of the praeternaturals Midori had come to know over her years as representative of the Kitsune, the elf Theora, informed Midori of the oncoming virus and war. Midori took quick action. Rather than proceed to Elysium immediately, Midori took to the task of ushering others to Elysium. She gave her advisor the job of gathering the Kitsune of the Tenko clan and bringing them to Elysium.

Midori's concern was to retrieve Mitsuko from America. Midori found her daughter and pleaded with her to come to Elysium. Mitsuko relented and accompanied Midori to the Haven. Once there, Theora charged her with the task of retrieve the Stone of Ages, a magical object of great power she had been entrusted with years earlier. Midori returned to Japan, where she found her former lover, Raidon, with his human wife and hybrid son. While she disapproved of his outerbreeding, she told him of Elysium and sent him along to the Haven. Midori did not accompany him, knowing she had to get to the Stone of Ages from Mount Tokachi.

On her journey to her home, the first of the bombings began. Before she was able to reach Mount Tokachi, she heard word of its terrible fate: Mount Tokachi had been hit in a bombing. The Tenko Kitsune which remained there were killed and the Stone of Ages was out of reach. Her mission failed, Midori made her long way to return to Elysium.

Her journey to Elysium was less perilous than Raidon's. As she only had herself to worry about, she was able to move faster, remain in fox form and easier avoid hazardous areas. She arrived at the border of Elysium just as a scouting mission was sent out. She was found by members of the scouting party, while at the same time her former lover and his son were found by others. When she heard of Raidon's death, Midori chose to remain hidden, to not complicate Mitsuko's mourning with her sudden reappearance. After she was declared healthy at the medical pavilion, Midori chose to take her fox form and remain in the forest.
